What led to the collapse of large states at the end of the Bronze Age?

Each essay must open with an introductory paragraph containing a thesis statement which directly and specifically answers the question. Students will be expected to use evidence drawn from both the assigned readings (both the textbook and primary sources) and the lectures to defend their argument over the course of the essay, and to finish the essay with a conclusion which summarizes their argument.
